Westernized, influence of various civilization who invaded us and ruled us; has just given way to a hybrid culture and civilization where we speak English as an official language which is not the national language at office. It is evident because, the very post which I have written now is in English.

We consider people who know English superior and people with native languages inferior. It is a victory of Britishers and the defeat for ourselves. If you check history English has been around only for the past 200 years in India. Before that we had so many native languages and the base language of all was Sanskrit.

How many people know Sanskrit today, other than the broken Sanskrit students learn at school as a scoring subject. Not many even know that Sanskrit is the official language of Uttarakhand. Do you know how many people around the world want to learn Sanskrit and its hidden fascinating meanings?

Germany have so many universities offering Sanskrit as a subject. People from NASA have a separate wing of scientist studying the secrets of Sanskrit. The word is out that the next generation computers will have Sanskrit as their base language, as almost or all the languages in the world have been derived from it. Sanskrit is part of the subjects taught in a school in England, which produces the best ranking students every year. They say Sanskrit improves brain functionality and hence intelligence and IQ.

No wonder, our Rishis and Maharisihis where world renowned scholars. Sanskrit was not a language of rishis and maharishis alone, it was the native mother tongue of ancient Indian Subcontinent. There are villages in India, who still speak Sanskrit. We are easily baffled by the western world. How many of us take the time to understand our forgotten fore fathers and the way we used to live and thrive.

If Aliens would have visited the ages of Munis and if they happen to come back again to the Holy land of India, they would never believe that we are the descendants of the great Aryan civilization where the Rig veda once flourished. Even today there are Sanskrit scholars who teach the language of our fore fathers. I would like to leave a thought in your mind with the following shlok.

Would you believe me, if I tell you this shlok when decrypted can tell the value of Pi upto 31 decimal places. Sanskrit is just mind boggling language. Learn Sanskrit and teach your next generation. After all we can still get back few things which we have forgotten. Lanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07081394590231912026noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7576865939481841912.post-69083957569282528012014-12-02T12:23:00.001-08:002014-12-02T13:07:45.787-08:00Life changing experienceKris Gethin and Hirthik Roshan, my role models. Wanted to follow in their foot steps. Took up a workout routine of Kris for 12 weeks. I broke down this into 3 weeks and a break of 2 weeks and again 3 weeks and 2 weeks and so on.

It was an awesome feeling to see some muscles develop after so much hard work at the gym. My weight has not decreased drastically, neither has my appetite. My waist size has reduced from 38 inches to around 35 inches now. The fat I have lost are the muscles I have gained, so the weight got compensated.

Workouts are more intense now a days. Have gone into the high 70lb levels now. Weight training has its plus. During the 3 weeks on, I did not miss gym even for a day. On rest days, when I am not doing weight training, I went for a run. The 29th birthday .. But by the look of it, it wasn't the ideal birthday.

I did not get a chance to wear my new t shirt and jeans, and also was not able to take my dad mom and Priya for dinner ...

Had been to the temple early in the morning. That is the only thing to that went well.

The number of friends who wish birthday by phone has now reduced as I grow old. Facebook is the new communication channel. But my old friends do call me to wish. Feels great...

Yes, I was in office for the whole day till midnight... A cake cutting at office was the only thing that saved my day eventually..

The old lady at dakshinchitra , chennai who read my hands said that it would be a golden period for me from age 29-39.... :) It wasn't quiet the golden start though .....

I will never forget this birthday number 29, because of its uniqueness ...

The most difficult day of my life to see someone who was so nice to me die, giving me the jolt of cruel reality of life.. When Peter died I had the same feeling..

But this is more difficult as it was my father in law. It's a very difficult time of my life. Priya was shattered. She could not think of anything. It was just one of those days. Her cry of appa appa is still ringing in my ears.. It fills my eyes with tires.

January 19th 2013, would be one of the black days of my life. I never thought a normal Saturday could turn so traumatic. S Ranga Vittal, was gem of a man I had met so far in my life.

He took so much care of me that I believed I had gotten a second father figure. Such simplicity, such humbleness, such humility like no other men I have seen. Great men leave an aura for people to follow them. I certainly should pluck a leaf out of his life and lead my life as simple as I can.

I would want to stop comparing my condition with others and just lead my life as it happens and save as much as I can and think thrice before spending. Enjoying my life henceforth without comparison.

May his soul rest in peace.

A quiet environment, where you can hear the chirping bird, trees and lots of them blocking the sun rays touching the ground, not many people around to be seen, and the time, it seems to have stopped for the moment. What happens when our thumb gets injured, only then do we understand the importance of it. Each and everything we do, simple things like opening a door, lifting a cup of tea involves our thumb. To make them smile, is all we wanted to do and that is what we did. Some of them were really excited on winning the jaldi five and full housie prizes. As the number count went on, there were many calling out numbers. We helped them play the game and finally there were many winners. We photographed each and every winner as soon as he won. And the gifts, I felt our presence on the day made their day more than the gifts.

The handicraft exhibition there was a treat to see. Many of them were great craftsmen. We bought many of the handicrafts made by them. What strikes me is how can such handicapped people make such amazing handicrafts! When god shuts down something, he opens up something else they say. In their case the amazing world of art has opened up.The paintings over the greeting cards they make was really artistic, like an artist would do it.

I wanted to buy the iPad (the new one). The price would have punched a big hole in my pocket. I realized that later, it was not adding something new to my life. The features of the iPad were all taken over by its Android successors. The Android pads offered features that the iPad did not. But the display and look and feel of an Apple iPad is something that makes us want to buy the iPad.

Then came the Samsung phone, pad and padfone(which was not a phone not a pad). The Samsung S2 created history with top of the line sales. Samsung also released many phone which were targeted on the college going students. Now a days if we see, almost everyone has a Samsung smart phone with the touch pad. Mine is a HTC, which comes before the era of Samsung, which has revolutionized the smart phone and pad segment of the market. Android OS which gives lot of free apps to download from the Android market has been a catalyst to this boom.

Samsung also made good advt. to attract the younger college goers with something unique. Well done!! Now each and every person has a glass pane that he will peer into almost more than 50 times a day. I wanted to do a count of how many times I checked my phone a day. I was really surprised to find out that I used my phone far more than I thought before. Soon it was phone everywhere, bed, sofa, toilet, with laptop.

Facebook has made a bigger influence to today's networking. More so the android app for facebook. Checking facebook on the go, twitter on the go, using gtalk on the go, gmail on the go, cricket scores on the go, Whatsapp on the go, linkedin on the go, naukri.com on the go, bookmyshow on the go, zomato.com on the go and list just refrains to die. These smart apps have made our life so easy but has made us lazy. Yes indeed, it has made us stick to a 4 inch/6 inch or 10 inch flat pane of glass for more than 5 hours a day. Actually more than 5 hours.

The touch effect of a mobile feels so great. It is addictive. It kind of leaves us with no time for other chores in our everyday life. Our hobbies are orphaned. There were lot of other things we used to do before; this touch phenomenon, abducts all those things, never to give us a feel of it again. Life without our touch device sounds boring. We cannot live without them. We want to sleep with it, wake up with it, go for a walk with it; have we tought about sitting on it? Sleep cycle goes for a toss. We feel almost out of energy every day when we wake up in the morning.

I remember a famous quote of MK Gandhi -- "“Remember that all through history, there have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they seem invincible. But in the end, they always fall. Always.” Here I refer to the touch device as the sleep killer, a hobby killer. The determination of people is so much that we can do anything, to come over things. The touch device is addictive, yes but it is not more than the determination of humans. Eventually it will fall or something else will take over. Its here to stay for some time, but sooner or later we have the capacity to control it and not the other way round. When it dawns, the next day we will wake up and feel stronger and fresher.

It was not the first time I played cricket, but the land of Sachin Tendulkar made it special to play it in the streets of Mumbai. The years were 1996-2000, I was totally new to underarm cricket. Born and brought up in south India where we played over arm throw cricket.

Throwing the ball not bowling it. Simple terms it is chucking. I was new to both over arm and under arm cricket. The streets were full of cricketers some very good , some beginners like me. It was difficult for me to adjust to playing this kind of demanding cricket. All I needed was practice, and practice is what I got. Moved along the reins and finally could become captain of some team.

Improved my underarm bowling, though my overarm blowing was a shame. I never got the line correct with over arm cricket. So I mastered my slow leg spinners and offies which turned appreciably. Got a lot of wickets using my offies, than my leg spinners. It was totally awesome feeling just making a mark. My batting was overshadowed by my bowling. It was okay, not very consistent. I used to come to party once in a while and blow the opponent away.

Keeping all aside, I kept chipping in with some great reflex catches. It was more anticipation and hand eye coordination that made me a better fielder. I used to dive on those thar roads and injure myself almost everyday. My mom was really unhappy by the way I used to come up with some new starch or cut every now and then.

School cricket, I played was a totally different batch of individuals. Even though a lot of people were from south India and settled here in Mumbai, they were more of mumbaikars than south Indians. I used to play with my own bunch of people at school, guys who were average at their grades. There was this scholars gang were everyone had good grades and they used to play separately. I always dreamed to play with those scholars and mingle with them and being in their conversation would increase my grades too.

One fine day, I did ask them if I could play with them. They did like me and said yes. I thought it was a break threw. I got into a better bunch of individuals and so I thought. I had to leave my old gang to join them. Ofcourse my old gang guys did not like this move.

One fine day, I was running a single and accidentally ball watching banged into one of the fielders. The guy I hit fell and his head banged on ground. A sharp pebble caused a small cut. It resulted in blood , which made the scene ugly. I was new to their gang. Though they did not abuse me or something, but finally sent a guy who told me exactly where I stand. Thats it I was out of the group. I could not longer play cricket with them.

My old gang were willing to take me again. Yes, its all in being friends. I realized my mistake of being caught in greed for higher grades. That day I started to realize, I am not very great at my grades, I am not a scholar. My brain is not like those super kids, its an average brain. I tried to study harder and try to outscore these scholars. I was successful in most of attempts. Just that my language subjects used to give me a harder time and keep me behind.
Lanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07081394590231912026noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7576865939481841912.post-58451224476963783472011-03-23T01:01:00.000-07:002011-03-23T01:01:27.016-07:00I am hungry!!
Like everyday, today was also very busy day in the morning before going to office. My mom had a new problem as we had a new servant to clean house coming today. She was very apprehensive about her. I had been to my gym and had been back, now it was time to get ready for office.

It was a very tough time for my mom as she had to be behind the servant just to check how she works, and also had to cook for me. In all this she had forgotten her breakfast. Not to forget before the servant it was my dad's turn to leave home. He does pooja, so requires some materials to be ready, like preparing for the deepa and aarthi and also flowers. She had to prepare all that.

She was telling me I am feeling hungry while cooking for me. I saw my mom working very hard to her limit. Usually I am very lazy and don't do anything. Today, I prepared my drink and let her look after the servant. Then I asked her to take her time in cooking for me. As she was partly cooking and partly watching over the servant, I thought of doing something for her.

So I went slowly inside the kitchen and took a banana and gave it to her. Then after some time, cut an apple into small pieces and placed it in a plate and placed it in front of the stove were she was cooking. She said thanks. Well, listening to her saying "I am hungry", I just did what I could. :) :)

She does so much for me, it was nothing compared to that, but I felt great after doing it. You see love is all-round.. :) :)
Lanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07081394590231912026noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7576865939481841912.post-59819852777320388792011-03-13T11:36:00.000-07:002011-03-13T11:36:09.905-07:00Landscape painting
Took some time off to paint this .... New year resolution or not, so far it is good. Being a vegetarian, it is difficult to get those muscles. I joined on a muscle gain program. Not many of my ancestors have had muscles. Some thought triggered my mind, when my dad commented that we have been pundits and only form of muscles gain exercise we used to perform is ringing the big bell for the Lord. So then muscle building is just not in the genes.

Black smiths, building constructors and people with utmost physical activity were the guys who had muscles. Interesting but true. They are the people with the genes for a fab body. Others just don't have it in their genes. Owing to the fact that cross culture, or cross caste marriage were not acceptable in our orthodox past, it could be true to say the fab body guys today have the genes of these black smiths and building constructors from the past.

May be may be not. Even though, I try to build some muscles, I kind of feel may be I am not built for it from within. Is it that I am asking my body to do something totally different from its actual use. Are is it that I am just doing something it is not used to and asking it to perform. Will it perform? Only time will tell.

Yes, like the title says colors in English. They are everywhere, other than a BW picture or movie. They are also in English. "Don't worry you will pass your exams with flying colors" they say. Do colors really fly?

"His face will turn red", red with anger. Such a vibrant color red is used to show anger. Interesting, but true. A "red tape" what the? You caught me red handed there. I will not use bad words. Lets raise a red-flag and say this topic is really a tough one to crack open. Colors and English so vibrant, red hot combination I should say. I am actually out of red now. So lets go to the next color.

"He has hit a purple patch in his life. Now where did this color come from? Actually it comes from a roman poet, who wrote...." nceptis grauibus plerumque et magna professis purpureus, late qui splendeat, unus et alter adsuitur pannus". Which means... "Your opening shows great promise, and yet flashy purple patches; as when describing a sacred grove" and so it goes. The origin of a purple patch is from here.
"He is turning blue", "lonely and blue in a strange city", "Its a blue day"..... well I got to say .. where do these come from. Blue is the color of the sky and hence the sea. When you think on these lines you will get a lot more places where the color blue is used. Blue here means suffocation or depression. Blue day refers to not so good weather because of constant rain. Out of the blue, I get this topic I should say. Such thoughts come once in a blue moon :) :)

"Its a black out", "black market", how can the color black get out. Black is considered as absence of color. It is actually not considered as a color if you ask artists they might give a long explanation about it. "Black mail", here is what I could gather about it. "Its origin had nothing to do with the post office. Mail in this sense was an old Anglo-Norse term for rent or tribute. During the time of border warfare between England and Scotland, freebooters extorted payment from farmers of the area in exchange for protection and immunity from plunder. As the inhabitants were generally very poor, the tribute was paid in "black mail," that is, grain, meat, or the lowest coinage (copper), as opposed to "white mail," which was silver. In time the word took on the meaning of any payment extorted by threat of exposure of an incriminating secret." It is pitch black around here, don't you think.

"Hope this message reaches you in pink of your health" . Pink ?? Here is what I found. The general usage of this phrase has altered somewhat since it first entered the language. We now usually see it with the specific meaning of 'the pink of condition', i.e. in the best possible health. It is tempting but, as it turns out, misguided, to assume an association between 'the pink of condition' and the healthily glowing pink cheeks of new-born babies or energetic sportsmen/sportswomen and the like. The earliest citations of 'in the pink' are from the 16th century and, at that time, the meaning was 'the very pinnacle of something', but not necessarily limited to health. I already see pink elephants, don't you? :) I have a tickled pink feeling about all this.

There is lot of gray matter here, kind of gets difficult to recollect all the colors. I am yellow-bellied when it comes to saying things at the appropriate time. I do see the world with the rose-colored glasses some times. That makes some go green with envy. Just hope the world was black and white, where everybody can chase rainbows. :) :) Lanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07081394590231912026noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7576865939481841912.post-5346025346899233652010-09-18T14:06:00.000-07:002010-09-21T01:32:46.459-07:00Second Painting.I thought, I could do it.. Well it has come out very well.... Here is the picture I took at Rohtang Pass.. I made a painting out of it. I made some changes and also used my imagination to fill the landscape behind. :)
Local train towards Andheri, ofcourse it was crowded. It was a routine train, normal. As soon as the train took off from Vileparle towards Andheri, we came across some kind of pungent smell. It was a strong enough to bring a sneeze from me. I sneezed.

After a second or two the Muslim uncle with the cap, who sat near me, sneezed. Then another guy sneezed he was in his 40s. May be a manager somewhere, looking at the way he was dressed. Then came the turn of a guy who looked a little like he was from the north east.

I was amazed, so many people sneezed in just a matter of seconds. Then a Marathi guy sneezed ( I knew he was because he was reading a marathi paper) I was wondering all of them reacted similar to the smell. They are all from different religion, sect, caste and for that say from different parts of India.

They I popped into the paper and it read the news on J and K and also violence somewhere in Andhra Pradesh. Even though we are all brought up from different parts of the country and follow different ways to reach God, we are still just humans, homo sapiens sapiens.

Today during lunch I had a stroll. I came across a school. It was end of a shift and start of another I guess. All cute and small kids were leaving and taller kids were coming in. I saw a Singh uncle riding a cycle, picking up his grand daughter from school. Then a lady in burka went hand in hand with her cute kid.

An old sindi uncle came in Kinetic Honda. It was a buzzing crowd. With all this, there were taxis, buses, vans picking up children from the school. All kids were so happy leaving school. Kids playing, saying bye bye to each other. All smiles. It really gets me to wonder, we are not really discriminative when we are kids. Its when we grow up we get these strange feelings. The hatred for others is just a mere result of us becoming adults. Hope some day we are kids again. :)
I looked out of the window, I could see nothing but darkness. The lights of the car showed us that the road existed there. The time was 4 am. The terrain was hilly. I was totally concentrating on the road as I sat on the front seat. I just consider it a good omen, for me to occupy the front seat for the start of the journey. Our vehicle slowly descended in the darkness.

Every now and then, I felt my fingers on my lap tapping. It was the music, ancient Buddhist prayer combined with slow beats welcoming the sun rise. It was very soothing as it made me calm down my anxiety. The hilly terrain was very difficult to drive. Our driver "Suraj" was one of the best when it came to judgment of the road. I was impressed from day one. The prayer broke into instrumental beats every now and then. We were on our way back from a small town called Kaza towards Manali.

*****************************************************************************************************

Kaza is a small town on the Himalayas. To get there is a kind of bumpy drive from Manali. It was a very difficult climb three days ago. It took us almost 15 hours long drive, to reach Kaza. It is as remote as it can get. We stayed here for 3 days. Kaza is such a small town that, you can hear a dog bark far far away. The drive from Manali to Kaza is more and more up hill. The decent takes less time as compared to the climb, like always.
She was very surprised to see these new coins. I told her to keep the change. She smiled at me and said. " Aaj kuch naya dekha hai, pooja mein rakungi"; which meant, she saw something new today and will keep the 5 rupee coins during pooja for God. We exchanged smiles.
Suddenly it got very cold, we pulled up all over window. On the Manali-Kaza road, we had to take a detour to see something totally out of the world. From the top draw they say, sure it was; Chandratal Lake. We reached at chandratal at 8 am. We had to trek 3-4 kms to reach the lake. The skies stayed blue. It was a amazing feel to see the lake itself, forget taking pictures of it.
It was tough because of the mist and weather conditions. Finally we reached Manali, where I stayed for more than 3 days, before returning to Delhi and then back to Mumbai. I had just 20 bucks. I rechecked it, and I could not find more. It was just 20. Felt that the "daridram" in Sanskrit which means the state of being poor has just hit me. Money does not affect unless you are found wanting for it.

Today's fast money has made life easier to draw money from the bank account. The problem is, it has also made the spending that much more easier. I usually draw money from the ATM before I reach such a state of having just 20 to show.

The thoughts of my college days struck me. I used to travel home and to college with just 20 bucks that my mom used to give me. I used to save money from that by walking sometimes and save it for future use. I bought vada pav, books, etc.. It was a content life. I did have very less money, but after saving some, I used to feel very happy of my achievement.

Today, I don't feel the necessity to save it as I earn. I don't save money like I used to do it. Just going back, when I was at my college, I was so young, not mature enough. But then I knew saving money was very essential. Now that I have grown and mature enough to make a decision, I don't save money. Just the irony of life, when you can do something very easily, we just don't.Lanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07081394590231912026noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7576865939481841912.post-8505759435165593562010-07-27T01:36:00.000-07:002010-07-28T08:07:33.755-07:00Loneliness QuotientLoneliness can mar not only the time you are lonely, but would become a part of you in your psycho. Letting it go is not only difficult but also tricky as it keeps coming back. Its more of a feeling than a phenomenon. Addiction to something may be caused because of loneliness.

Positive energy is sapped, which leads to depression and rage. Disoriented thoughts makes days look like weeks. Friends betray your trust, act weird with no reason. Where does such a traumatized soul go after all? It is difficult to hold one self when the feeling is negative. Positive energy is like a oasis which comes and goes. Before you can blink your eyes, you are back to the boredom of infinite thickness. Breaking the shackles off which is takes utmost determination.

Anger is a double edged sword, which causes more ego outburst: in-turn gives back nothing but takes away lot of things. Past unforgettable events comes to torment you again and again, which will sap the living day lights out of your positive energy. Letting go things is something I realized could not help in such a black hole of a situation, as I can see no end.

When you trust someone with utmost belief and he happens to slip a knife from behind you cannot do much; rather than feel helpless. I have lost many of my friends because of time, distance, the unknown and the lost. I feel the later is the most paining aspect of it all.

Now every-time I think of doing something good to someone, the past gives a peep and says, "Is it worth it? " "Don't you think you are giving too much in return for nothing" All I can say at the present frame of mind is that I have given up... doing any good deeds to anyone... I would stay neutral till my mind and self gets back to a normalcy. Recent events have created a crater in the good deeds section of my brain.Lanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07081394590231912026noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7576865939481841912.post-36828821302167628832010-07-19T08:12:00.000-07:002010-07-19T09:11:53.670-07:00Mahuli TrekkingI did not search online for this one. Mr A cheered us all the way through, as it turned out to be a peculiar trip as this was the only trek, I was being cheered by Mr A. Mr R showed no signs of discomfort and reached the top with ease to show us some of his spider man skills. It took us almost 4 and half hours to climb it. We had scaled it... Mr R leading the way again, Mr A now fell behind, as the descent went into a story of no end. We could easily say that this is the most difficult descent of all the trek I have been in. As it rained heavily, it was very difficult to hold footing. Some how after 3 and half hours of descent, we reached the place where we started from, just in time for a quick tea and the 6:30 pm bus, which arrived at 6:50 IST.
I did call my mom from the peak, so vodafone has network on the top of the mountain, surprising. Mosquitoes rule the roost, so please carry a mosquito repellent cream. It is compulsory. Keep changing T-shirt, which will help you keep your skin fresh. Remove shoes as often as possible, which will allow your skin to breath. You can also camp the night in the caves, but I must say, it is not well maintained. It is better you do a one day trek, rather than extending it to a two day trekking experience. Of-course I almost forgot the ladder you will have to face. It is so difficult that, you can cross it closing your eyes and with two hands in the air. Don't forget to maintain balance. :) :) Just kidding, it is easy. But mind you guys, it is tough and it gets tougher as you climb, keep your composure. Eating my head to find the one thing that is both good for health and also sits for a long time in my stomach. After a lot of brain storming I zeroed on Brown bread, otherwise called whole wheat bread.

So I went about shopping for it. It was around 8:30 in the morning and it was slightly drizzling. I took an exact change of Rs. 20 /- it did not occur that I should take more. I thought that would be enough. So I went about to every shop to check for brown bread. The first shop, did not have brown bread, but they had normal bread.

Next shop, no bread. As it was raining, the guy who delivers bread to the shop was late today. I left him cursing the delivery guy to the next shop. The next shop: as soon as I said brown bread, the guy was delighted to pick it up and give it to me. May be he could not sell it. I did see the expiry date before buying it.

Then came the interesting part. He said the bread is Rs. 21/- I had only 20 bucks. I was left scratching my head. I told him, I have only 20. He gave a look at me, as if I am someone who is asking for a loan. I was indeed. I told him, I will give it back. He was not impressed. I just thought to myself, does Rs. 1 /- really matter. God knows how many such one rupees I would have given away here and there every day.

I was totally taken aback by the amount of importance he put in that one rupee. I have seen auto-drivers, shop keepers many a times just make a twitch and let go rupee one. Not this time. It was around 3rd shop from my home. So I had to walk all the way again to give him the money. I would not take that route for work. I could have just let go, as it would not matter a lot.

But I made a decision to walk all the way back again to give him the money. I did go back to do it. When I returned home, I felt that now I will be able to digest the brown bread properly. Not with the knowledge that this bread is not fully payed for or my conscience pricking me.Lanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07081394590231912026noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7576865939481841912.post-55285679372818982862010-05-30T10:16:00.000-07:002010-05-30T11:03:47.406-07:00Times of DisturbiaThere are times wherein, the more you think of what to do next, the more you go into spiral thought process. Moving things around is actually the toughest part. When everything seems against you, you kind of stay determined for the time and then find a way out of the situation. Sometimes you find the easy way out, sometimes it is the tough way out. Till today, I have always been taking the easy way out.

Easy way seems like the best for the short term. But looking at the future with a wide angle lens, it seems to be a stupid decision. This time I choose the tough way out. Choose the tough way and you have to be prepared for the things that come along. It is very difficult to hold yourself at these times. Some times I start doubting myself, in the way I do things. That is actually the most difficult mental state to handle.

The recent past have not been the best of times both personally and professionally. Broken, dejected, forlorn are some of the words to refer to my mental state of affairs. The renaissance to topple all this from my head has began, but it is taking a lot of time to defy the power within. Proving some of my critics wrong, is not going to be easy, unless battle from within is won.

Mental state contributes a lot to your daily chores. I have been sidelined badly with thoughts questioning my future. The enthusiasm, zest, zeal and hope seem to have dropped quiet a bit. Getting them up online needs application, determination and most importantly belief. Lacking some small percentage of any of these, will not make a good recipe for success. The next few months are going to be really jolt me around. I feel, I come out of it with bright colours. Hoping to look down upon this post in the future and have a bright smile on my face. Along the Mumbai-Goa highway comes this dilapidated fort of Raigad. Chatrapathi Shivaji's fort still stands till this day on the hills of Raigad. The western ghats stands tall and looks gigantic. It is around 1500 steps to reach the top of the hill. Shivaji and his army must have been really fit to reach that almost everyday.
The steps to reach the top is on the other side of the hill, from which you can enter the direct darbar. A story of British general goes like this. He climbed the hill to reach the top almost 1500 steps. He was totally exhausted. When he came to the gates of the darbar, he was amazed to see two elephants throwing flowers at him. For a guy with 2 feet it is so difficult to reach the top. How did Shivaji manage to bring these hefty elephants so far up the hill.
The trick was, Shivaji brought these elephants when they were just calf. They grew here in the top of the hill for the rest of their life. 7 queens, 7 rooms....Shivaji's bath tub, his Chathrapathi Simhasana, His samadhi and the samadhi of his faithful dog, had a lot of historic importance.
Just adjacent to his samadhi is the Temple. It looks like a mosque from a distance. It was a camouflage so that the Muslim rulers thought it was a Muslim place and never came to attack it. Being at the top of the hill it looks like mosque for sure from a distance.
The lady who made lunch for us and her house below. Jowar roti was really tasty for a tiring tour. Take lots of water if you are travelling in the summer. The winds on the top are good.
I also happen to see the shiv jothi. The person who lites this jothi will take it to his village on his legs. He walks all the way to his home. May it be 400-500 kms. The hard thing is he will wear no shoes. Amazing these people have so much faith and dedication even in the 20th century.
